Riotform started as a design studio and turned into a label. This is where the first part still shows.
Nine thousand stitches
A cheap transfer costs a few rupees and lasts about thirty washes. Embroidery costs an order of magnitude more and outlives the garment it’s sewn into; a raised puff print holds its edge where flat ink goes chalky; DTG earns its place when the artwork needs more colours than a needle can carry. We pick per piece, and we pick the expensive one, which is why this drop is short and not forty deep.
Every piece is made to order in India. Nothing is produced in advance, nothing sits in a warehouse, and nothing gets discounted to clear space. If a piece sells badly we stop making it, which is a cleaner ending than a sale rack.
The label came second
Riotform Studios works across design, film, branding and whatever sits between them. The label is what happens when a studio gets bored of making things for other people.
